My sister passed this along to me and I had to post it here. I can't believe the horror that is happening in Uganda. I pray that the media will begin to cover this story so that the mainstream audience can take notice and potentially make a difference:
"In the last few weeks, the LRA insurgency has taken a dramatic turn for the worse, and our office is now getting reports of new attacks and abductions on an almost daily basis. A serious emergency is unfolding for thousands of children as I write this - an emergency that would undoubtedly be mentioned in our newspapers and on our TVs if it were happening anywhere else. But the lives of these kids are being taken with no notice from the outside world.
With hundreds of children newly abducted by the LRA, I've come across only one international news article that tells this story. This recent violence leaves little doubt that we are entering into a new phase of this war. Though our efforts brought us closer than ever before to ending this crisis, we are now in a dramatically different situation that requires our immediate attention and action. This story must be told.
Thank you, Alison Jones
