Friday afternoon was verrrry interesting. Although I don't condemn the use of guns and am quite simply terrified of them, I had never shot one before and Tony took us out to shoot 8 different ones and do some target practise...I never hit the bullseye, but I came damn close.
There were 9mm, 22, 38 and 45mm. Shotguns, rifles, handguns, a revolver, a musket (replicated from the civil war) and my favourite, the submachine gun. It was hot and beautiful out in the field... Tony is not a collector, but an "acquirer" of guns and knows the history of each so it was definitely an afternoon to remember! Dean, thought of you buddy, you would've been in HEAVEN!

Handguns and the shotguns were fun:
After handguns and the 22:
Then we went to the bigger guns:
And my favourite:
This was my target for the huge musket (the top bullet) and then the three below are the submachine gun.
Yesterday was even more interesting...I drove Madelaine & myself into Joburg for a tour of Soweto (where Mandela grew up, ArchBishop Desmond Tutu too, Winnie Mandela still lives) and the Apartheid Museum. It was an extremely powerful day. Nevermind we got lost of 2 hours in some scary parts of Joburg...I am getting booted off the computer here though so I'll include all of that in my next blog, later today hopefully, although I think we're going to one of the Arts & Crafts market a bit later. Anyways, LOVE!
Tammy I am sooo proud of you. Brings me back to my time on the Blood Tribe. Great updates - can't wait to hear about your trip into Joburg for a tour of Soweto ....not sure I want to hear about the getting lost part!!!
