...when our hearts are full we need much less

  • Why the Hope?

The defining moment in my life that shifted the way I was thinking...and brought me to ubuntu.

  • Who am I?

    Great question. Tough to answer.

  • What I do

In the sense of living and breathing and working and playing.

Somewhat sporadically after my blog post last night, we decided to go with a bunch of the other girls here to a Moonlight festival at the Krishna temple downtown Jaipur. It is to celebrate winter coming and the full moon. We dressed all in white and received a free, air-conditioned taxi ride down there with our neighbour. There were 10 of us girls. Once we arrived, there was a lot of celebration. The men were ringing bells and dancing - it was beautiful. They passed out bowls of what tasted like rice pudding and we were to drink it for immortality. Upon exiting the temple, I received my first third eye 'dot' or tilaka!!

"The position of the tilaka is standard: centre of the forehead. It represents a third, inner eye. Hindu tradition holds that all people have three eyes, the two outer ones used for seeing the outside world, the third one focusing inward toward God. As such, the red dot signifies piety as well as serving as a constant reminder to keep God in front of the believer's thoughts."

Magical. Off to shower and then to work!
