...when our hearts are full we need much less

  • Why the Hope?

The defining moment in my life that shifted the way I was thinking...and brought me to ubuntu.

  • Who am I?

    Great question. Tough to answer.

  • What I do

In the sense of living and breathing and working and playing.

The Bollywood industry is bigger than Hollywood. It's considered to be the largest in the world when considering the number of films produced and the number of tickets sold.

We went to see Ra One last week. A movie with a surprisingly large Western influence. Two of the best known Bollywood actors starred in it, along with an adorable child actor.

The movies are pure entertainment. Glamour, comedy, horror, music, spoof and action in one package. One hilarious package, combined with an intermission and uncomfortable seats. Each time the actors appear on screen there is loud cheering and applause. I was so swept up in it even I found myself whooping for the main actor as he kicked some bad guys ass. And although the movie is in Hindi (more like Hinglish - as there are random insertions of English all the time), it wasn't difficult to follow the plot at all.

If you're looking for two hours of mindless hilarity, please find Ra One online and watch it. You won't be disappointed!

The Bodyguard also recently came out and although I didn't see the movie, you hear this song blaring everywhere - on ringtones, played on cell phones, even sung by random tuk tuk drivers. Teri Meri means You and Me. When we were in the desert coming home via camel, my South African friend was playing this on her cell phone and we felt like it was the theme song of our "voyage". Enjoy!
