I officially paid my Program Fee yesterday -- all $1400 -- it's going to be so worth it though! I emailed my Africa Programs Coordinator to see what kind of opportunity there is to rent a car on the weekends and get to a rural village to hand items of necessity out and she thinks I may have to distribute them through the other South Africa program - the education one. Either way, we're going to make it happen. I think about how I wrote my car off, than I find a new, better car that falls into my lap, how my promotion happened, how I've met specific people lately that mean something to my trip and I think - everything happens for a reason and I know this is all going to unfold just as it should!
On another note, they just announced some new programs for Global Volunteer Network and I've already decided where I'm going a year from when I get back in June - Uganda for the Refugee Camp program. It's so bizarre, I was literally saying aloud to my mom that that is where I'd like to be for a year or so - in a refugee camp near Uganda - and then this program comes out. Perfect! See! Just like it's supposed too!
