A very smart friend of mine brought these core four ways to live up to me recently and I fell in love. Enjoy!
Be impeccable with your word: Use your voice to encourage love and truth. Speak only the truth. Don't gossip or bad mouth people and always speak with integrity.
Always do your best: Give 100 percent all the time. This will help you avoid regret. Your best does vary - you are not a robot or a machine, therefore, be kind to yourself as "your best" will vary with your energy levels. This also builds respect through others' eyes.
Don't take anything personal: This is a very tough one because we all have big egos. When you are immune to others' opinions/actions you will avoid being the victim of needless suffering. Their criticisms are reflections of their own issues and insecurities.
Don't Make Assumptions: Communicate clearly to avoid misunderstandings and heartaches. Expect honesty and you should get it in return. Obviously this is not always the way, because others are not practicing the same rules; however their selfish and dishonest behavior is on them.
Simple, but oh so true.
