...when our hearts are full we need much less

  • Why the Hope?

The defining moment in my life that shifted the way I was thinking...and brought me to ubuntu.

  • Who am I?

    Great question. Tough to answer.

  • What I do

In the sense of living and breathing and working and playing.

Just a few thoughts taken from an email I sent to my mom and sister when I got home from this experience...

I was lucky enough tonight to be the one who got to take tickets and give out plates, meaning I got to talk to everyone and smile at each person. You wouldn't believe it. I was wearing a nametag, so many said thank you Tamara directly, many said God Bless, a few came up to thank us after, some commented in line that they would never find workers like this, that work for free. And you have some that are cold and proud, but you can tell this is their life too and I would be somewhat proud too ya know? It's a tough thing to accept hand outs like that. The people who work there are amazing, the group that I went with was great, but the stories...man the stories that some must have. I wish I could sit directly with each and every one of them. It really made me stop and realize, and appreciate, how lucky we are locally to have organizations like this and how important it is to remain focused on the local issues as well as those that are international.

Unbelievable. I can't wait to go back.
